WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY ABOUT THIS TREK.

An incredible adventure in the Tavan Bogd Nat’l Park and a most exciting experience in the land of the nomads!

Serik and his friendly, well equipped, very responsible and accommodating people made this 10 day adventure memorable. I signed up as a solo but joined by another trekker who was a great companion. Two days of snow did not derail our trek and onward we went with horse and camel support with our guides making sure we were right back on track. We appreciate our cook who was always there ready for a hot cup of tea, coffee, soup, water and she did a great job preparing our meals.
The topography of the Altai mountain range was breathtaking with sunny skies that eased the chill in the air. Western Mongolia is one of the most beautiful land I have seen and to top it all, the people were so admirable. My visit with the Eagle Hunter's family was fascinating. I was welcomed in their guest Yurt and enjoyed sharing food, watched their children play and with some interpretations, I shared stories with the members of the family. I felt at home!

I highly recommend this tour that combined the stunning beauty of the place, the hospitality, friendliness of the people and the way it's organized by Altai Nomads Travel.

Amazing trek through the Altai Mountains!

We did a 10 day trek that started in Ulgii, went through the Altai mountains, visited some lakes, stayed in some gers, met an eagle hunter, and had an amazing trip. The hiking was fantastic. Gorgeous trek through the mountains. We were lucky to have sunshine nearly every day - got to see lots of birds, yaks, camels, horses, sheep and goats. I was incredibly impressed by Altai Nomads. The camping gear was in great shape, the chef they had on the trip with us was phenomenal (most amazing food camping - ie CREPES!), and the route was perfect. Mountains, lakes, beautiful valleys, stunning passes. It was the perfect itinerary for a 10 day trek! I'd highly recommend it for folks interested in some truly unspoilt countryside.

Trip of a Lifetime!

We chose Altai Nomads Travel based on their recent TripAdvisor reviews, and our experience did not upset. My husband and I had been planning to travel to Mongolia for several years. We initially didn't know if we wanted to travel on our own or with a guiding company and we were SO glad that we booked with Altai Nomads. From the first time we inquired, Serik was quick to respond and was able to prepare a custom trip that catered to all the things we wanted to do and see. His prices are very competitive compared to other companies, and he came through with everything that was promised- we didn't have to worry about flights, car rental, transport, food, shelter, park permits, etc. Altai Nomads made sure everything was covered!
We traveled with a guide, a cook, and 2 camel wranglers, with 3 horses and 3 camels. (My husband and I are not keen on horses, so we trekked with our guide while the others rode horseback.) We started in the North of Altai Bovd National Park and traveled South, down to the twin lakes over a period of 2.5 weeks. The terrain was amazing, with giant mountains and glaciers in every direction! Our guide was extremely helpful, and every day spent time pointing out artifacts, petrogliphs, and explaining the culture and norms of a nomadic life. Many days we got to join the local nomads in their gers for warm tea, cream, and cheese.
Our cook deserves a paragraph of her own... we had been told prior to leaving that Mongolian food was not the best, but every day she prepared us a feast and proved the nay-sayers wrong! The food was absolutely delicious, with lots of variety and thoughtful touches. Every morning we had a warm breakfast, and then were given packed lunch made of homemade treats to take with us on our trek. Dinner included things like homemade dumplings, soups, meatballs, and stir fry. We had afternoon tea every day after we were done hiking, which provided warm breads, jams, and cookies, and candy bars. We never left the table hungry or unsatisfied.
All in all, choosing Altai Nomads was the best decision we could have made. I strongly feel that arranging a trip like this on your own would have been extremely difficult, especially with limited time in the country. Serik, and all the people at Altai Nomads were amazing; they provided a dream trip with the best team members, fantastic food, competitive prices, and a flawless itinerary. Their professionalism and knowledge of the region is second to none, and I can't recommend them highly enough!

3 innocent women fall in love with Altai Mountains

It is a pleasant journey to trek with Altai Nomads Travel (ANT) although it is really a tough hike.
We really are appreciated the service provided by Serik and his team member, I have sent many emails to Serik and he always addressed me in time. The moment we set foot in Olgii, we are about to start the journey at the entrace of Altai Tavan Bogd National Park.
In those 10 days, we were lead by the likeable-looking young man, Amandih, and began the trekking in this vast landscapes, we feel a chill to see the lakes region, Galcier, valley, the highlight is to climb the "Malchin" peak which I believe is our utmost limits of capabilities. Amandih is smart, funny and capable of showing his strong feeling ahout trekking, his genuine interests in Altai Mountains.
One of our team mate needs extra help from our horsemen since she could barely walk after the climbing, 2 horsemen take care of her entirely out of kindness, and most of the time, they are more than happy to help us for the daily routine when we show our clumsy behaviour.
As for our fantastic cook, Feruza (I've heard she is good from other hikers who give her a thumbs up) we could feel her enthusiasm in the way of food preparation, she spends most of her time in the kitchen and worried much when we couldn't finish our meal after the hiking, well, it's not her fault, it is because we are too tired to consume any food. Feruza is really a treasure of Altai Nomads Travel, she meets every one's need.
Overall, I highly recommend this ANT because everyone we have met shows their expertise and friendliness, and we are impressed by their hospitality and selfless spirits. No doubt ANT is the best!!!

The best adventure trekking tour in my life

I did the ten day trek through Altai Tavan Bogd National Park and was thrilled with the experience. Everything was fantastic— from the food, to the scenery, the driving, the camping gear and the crew with us. Our guide, Auka, was great and was able to answer all our questions and teach us some (basic!) Kazakh. Our cook Guljan whipped up some fantastic food which was always perfect after a long day hiking in some unseasonably cold weather (she was also able to cater to my dietary requirement of gluten free!) Our driver, Erjan, was hilarious and always had us laughing. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Serik was also able to push back my flights and arrange for me to go to the eagle festival with another group (this was a very last minute amendment!).
The experience was amazing and the level of professionalism was impressive. I would absolutely recommend this trek to anyone who loves nature and hiking and is an open-minded traveller ready to learn about Kazakh/Mongolian culture. This was the best adventure trekking tour in my life.
